Reading Notes: Mahabharata C

- After the Pandava princes were banished they went into the forest with Draupadi
-Surya gave Yudhishthira a copper pot filled with food
-For 12 years they were send into the forest with their three wives
-Krishna visited the princes in the forest
-Arjuna gatheres weapons on his own to fight the Duryodhana when their exile is over
-Arjuna is the son of Indra
- Arjuna killed a boar during his morniing worshing with a bow
- The Great God gave Arjuna the divine bow
- Indra is the Father of Arjuna
-Arjuna stayed wirh Indra for five years while becoming skilled in music and dancing
-the Daityas and Danavas ( the demons and giants) are the enemies of Indra, they live b elow the floor of the coean callled Patala
- Arjuna started  war with them but after a long battle came out victorious
- He went to the city of demons and giants called Hiranyapura on his chariot 
-Indra praised his son for his victory and gifted him a chain of gold, a diadem, and a war shell which has a hard blast
- While Arjuna was in Indras city his three younger brothers were in the forest of Kamyaka
- Yudhishthira learned a skill in dice
- They exiles went north toward the Himalayas and searched for Arjuna
-When they were reunited with Arjuna they retruned to Kamyaka 
- Bhima found a monkey while gathering things and found it to be Hanuman.
- Karna has Duryodhana spy on the Pandavas in the forest and report their misery out there
-Karna vowed to kill Arjuna
-Surya warned Karna that Indra will attempt to take his armor and earrings
- Karna cut off his jewerly and gave them to Indra
-Daraupadi was taken away by Jayadratha, Rajah, of Sindhu in a chariot
- Bhima found Jayadratha and cut off all but five locks of hair, while Rajah had to prostrate himself
- The Pandavas exile was coming to and end
-Nakula drank the water without completing the task and fell to his death, he was followed by Sahadeva
- Arjuna put up a fight but was also killed by this force
-Bhima too drank from the water and fell to his death
-Yudhishthira was a wise brother and answered the questions of the Yaksha
- He revealed himself as Dharma, the God of wisdom and justice.
-He demanded that his brothers be brought back to life and to remain unrecognizable by anyone
- The Pandavas spend their last year of exile in hiding
- Bhima choked Prince Kickaka to death after Draupadi told him of her encouter with him
- Duryodhana attacks King Virata and steals his cattle in a raid, and the Pandavas offered their help
- The PANDAVAS and Kauravas prepare to go to war after they return from their exile
-Arjuna selected to have Krishna by his side
- Krishna urges Karna to go to the pandavas in peace and they will accept him as family
- His birth mother tells him how he was born
- The battle begins between the Pandavas and Kauravas
- Arjuna sees his real family on the oppossing side of the feild and is torn with his choice
- Bhishma is the general of the Kaurava, and he warns Duryodhana of the storm that is about to come.
