-Offerings to Shiva and Vishnu include leaves, food, and many more
-Invoking the mind without domesticating nature is the trait of Shiva
-Brahma is the opposite
-Durga rides her lion and disobeys domestication
-Her nose ring shows she is still free, but still domesticated
-She is Brahmas defiant daughter
-Kanya-Kumari must marry the next day before sunrise to ensure a happy marriage, but Shiva lives far away in the mountains, so he must travel to her through the night
-Laws and rules distract from creativity
-Durgas has unbound hair which represents lack of domestication
-She complains that her husband shiva does not work but her mother tells her that she chose her husband
-Her striking image is her yellow skin like tumeric
-Her skin color is a cosmetic and also a medicine
-Kali is the one who saved Krishna from the evil Kansa, who tried to kill him as a baby
-Durga is not only a daughter of one god, she's the goddess of all gods
-She is a mixture of all the devas combined, creating the most powerful goddess
-She is self made, and created to defeat anything that could stand in her way
-She is the goddess of all god's, and the daughter of all devas
-when she rides into battle, she does so on her lion
-She can defeat anyone who comes in her way
-Her departure and return teaches the villagers that they should not take anything for granted
- Kali spreads her tongue over the battle field to drink the blood of those she has defeated
